Do You Know Why Heating and Cooling Lifetime Costs Impact HVAC Purchases?

Having a reliable HVAC system is critical when you live in the Raleigh area, especially to stay warm through the chill of winter and cool through our hot, humid summers — all comfortably and affordably.

When you upgrade your heating and cooling system, there are a lot of factors to consider, including the sticker price. However, the price of an HVAC system does not just include the initial purchase — it also includes the heating and cooling lifetime costs of the system.

It is no surprise that when it comes to HVAC purchases, you get what you pay for. Lower priced equipment is often less durable and less reliable than a more expensive model, which means you may end up paying more in equipment repairs in years to come. Cheap equipment also doesn’t last as long, so you will have to replace your system sooner.

Perhaps most importantly, the lifetime costs of HVAC equipment include monthly utility bills. Heating and cooling is the No. 1 utility expense for most homes, so investing in high-efficiency systems will go a long way toward keeping costs down. HVAC systems with higher efficiency ratings are often more expensive to purchase and install than those with lower ratings. But the monthly savings more than make up for the initial expense.

New HVAC systems are a major investment and you want to make sure you get the best product for your money. This means that your new equipment must have the ability to achieve your home comfort standards, not just when it is brand-new, but every day.

Certain systems can work better than others in certain areas. For instance: heat pumps, they certainly can work great, depending on where you live.
